The reason why I started this blog is because I was so sick and tired of my old job, being on call 24hrs a day, getting dragged out of bed in the middle of the night and never getting paid enough for the stress or the hassle it… I hated it… And that is why I started my own online business. By creating this blog I want to meet, network and give back to other newbie and wannabe online entrepreneurs who are in the same position as I was… And hopefully, my story can help you to discover a better alternative, just like I did when I started working from home, being my own boss and making money online… But before I get into all of that…..
Who is this Andy Hunt Guy and What Can He Do For Me…?
Well, I have lived in Wales all my life. In a town called Pontypridd, just outside the capital. If you’re a Tom Jones fan, you’ll know it as his hometown…
And I have BIG DREAMS…!
I’ve never been much of a sports fan, but I have always been passionate about training with weights & keeping fit. Recently though, I must admit, I have started to catch a lot of sport on TV from Formula 1 & Nascar, to basketball and American football. (Hey, if anyone can help me out with the rules of football, that would be great… Cause I really have no idea…) When I was off work for a year (I’ll get to that as well later), I taught myself how to paint with oils. I was no Van Gogh, mind you… But painting did give me a real bib buzz, just the fact that I taught myself…
I grew up around a bunch of dream stealers, as I’m sure you did…! My 2 younger sisters were always the shining light in my parents eyes and consequently all the encouragement to do well in life seemed to go their way and not in mine…! That lack of encouragement lit a fire inside me that burned so hot, it gave me the burning desire to succeed in whatever I did, even though I was always told that I would never amount to much… Who the heck does that to a kid anyway..?!!
I was so confused leaving school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I left at 16 and got a job as the office monkey, just fetching the coffee and doing the photocopying. Then I got a job as a Junior Estimator with one of the biggest road construction companies in the UK, but that wasn’t enough of a challenge for me, so when the Junior Quantity Surveyors position came up, I jumped at it…. It had a brand new company car…
And I really wanted the car…
So I got the car, oh yeh…. And the job - Nice…! 18 years old, with a brand new company car… I was chocolate…
But I hated my boss with a passion. Sometimes I just wanted to put him in his place, do YOU know what I mean…? Always telling me that my work was crap and that he could do it better…! Driving to work each day, my stomach would ache, knowing that I was working like a dog, making someone else rich and getting treated like a bag of crap for the pleasure!
I always dreamed of working for myself, but had no idea what I wanted to do!
I soon needed extra money, so I got an evening job as a nightclub doorman. That was great… I had never even been to a nightclub before and now I was working in one of Cardiff’s hotspots… And I did like the ‘hotties’ who came in to dance…!! Hey, I’m a guy, leave me alone…
I worked both jobs for the next 10 years, sitting down all day, standing up all night. I did get tired after a few years, but when you have to do it, you have to do it…! In between, I got married to my childhood sweetheart and gave up the nightclub work (the honourable thing to do being a married man…) But when my wife lost her job and decided that she didn’t want to go back to work anymore, money became tight and we had no life…! So it was up to me. I had to go back to working 2 jobs…! It was awful. I got so tired and I still had no life…!
A year into the marriage and working my nuts off, I came home one night to an empty house and a ‘dear John’ letter from my wife, saying that she had left because I was working too much…! Great eh, I work like a dog and then get dumped… (Maybe she should have thought about going to work eh…?!)
I shook off the stress of the divorce and that fire (remember it…) started to burn inside me more than ever… ‘Scorching’ hot too…
I moved into a new house and rented the old one out to make some extra money. I started my own security business and was able to fire my boss. WOW, what a feeling…!! I had become an entrepreneur at last. But… I had the worst business partner you could ever think of… He was as lazy as a fat cat on a summers day…! Don’t ever go into business with a bad partner, it sucks the living daylights out of you, just like have a JOB does…!
A couple of years on and I was doing all the work and giving away half the money at the end of every week…. Arghhhhh… I knew there had to be a better way of life for me, than being on call 24 hours every day, there must be a way of satisfying my desires of earning the ‘big bucks’ and not having to give half of it away…! That sucked…
Anyway, my working life came to an abrupt pause in 2003 when I had a near fatal car crash… I spent a few months in hospital, 5 weeks on a life support machine and then it took me a year to recuperate enough to get back into work - I was alive, that was the main thing (thanks to the big guy upstairs, it must have been some kind of divine intervention…) The business suffered in my absence. So, even though I was recovering and still learning to walk again, I had to half run the company, my business partner was about as much use as a chocolate teapot…! It was real hard…
I did get the business back on its feet, but things soon returned to how they were before the crash… I was giving away half my money at the end of damn week AGAIN… Can you imagine how that felt…?? I had to get out…NOW.
By this time, my girlfriend had left me, not handling me being out all hours of the night and never being there for her. I was sick and tired, stressed and very lonely… There had to be a better life for me, I just knew it…
Anyway, I was surfing online one night and came across a page with online businesses on it. I never even knew these things existed, so carried on looking at this business and that one, until finally the light bulb lit over my head…!

This was the answer I had been looking for, I would be able to work my own hours, from home, still be my own boss… And no more getting dragged out of my nice, warm cozy bed in the middle of the night… And I would get paid ALL the money, no more of that giving away half crap…!

I sold my half of the security business to my partner, wished him well and moved on to greener pastures. See ya loser…
TRUE FREEDOM BEGINS…
True freedom begins, when you take the bull by the horns, find a great business and FIRE YOUR BOSS…! Oh Yeh… And then you are able to make the kind of money YOU desire and dream of…! I am my own boss now and you can be too…
